Amistad Arts Collective, Inc has been given a limited number of discounted tickets, for those friends of cultural diversity and supporters of the arts, who wish to attend this wonderful cultural event. On March 21, 2009 One Longfellow Square will host a night of African Acoustic Music featuring Kinobe and Soul Beat Africa with emerging political singer/songwriter Naia Kete. These are 2 very talented and diverse artists with a unique connection to the African tradition. This is not the kind of show that we get to offer regularly in Maine and I would love for it to be successful and pave the way for more shows of this type. You can purchase $12.00 tickets in advance by responding to AAC via email or calling One Long Fellow Square and expressing that you wish to purchase a friend of Amistad Arts Collective ticket. All fees go directly to LongFellow Square to help support and maintain this truly culturally enriched venue here in Ptown. So in the words of the immortal Petey Green (whom I modeled my radio personality), "Let's get it popping and start shopping in the hood for what's truly good. Save the Children is by culturally building and you know we be chill'n like villians. Sipping ain't a crime unless you are spilling the vine then you know it's time. Because the mind is a terrible thing to waste and don't forget the toothpaste. See you there because we all are somebody, "Say it loud, if you're proud and I will be there to move the crowd. |
